What Does 20/20 Vision Actually Mean?

20/20 Vision

Whether you need a routine exam, contact lenses, or eye surgery, we would be delighted to help at Avery Eye Clinic, which serves Conroe, Huntsville, and The Woodlands TX. Today, we’re shedding some light on 20/20 vision, and you can learn more below. Then, visit us so we can provide you with the treatment that you need for improved eyesight!

What Is 20/20 Vision?

20/20 vision means that your visual acuity is normal and you are able to clearly see objects that are at least 20 feet in front of you. However, you should know that having 20/20 vision is not the same thing as having perfect vision. It simply means that you have normal sharpness of vision at a distance. Color vision, and depth perception can contribute to how well you can see overall. When you visit us, we will perform an eye exam that will determine if you have 20/20 vision.

Even if you have 20/20 vision, you may still find it difficult to see items up close. Not only that, but you might also struggle with poor depth perception or astigmatism. If this is the case, our ophthalmologists can speak with you about your condition and create a treatment that is meant to help you see more clearly.
