In the past, glasses and contact lenses were the only options available to correct vision problems, also referred to as refractive conditions. With the latest advancements in technology, excimer lasers and surgical procedures have provided several other options to correct vision problems. The important question is to find the procedure that is best for your eyes and specific vision requirements.

Because contact lenses temporarily alter the shape of the cornea, patients interested in LASIK vision correction should stop wearing their contact lenses for a minimum of two weeks if they wear soft contacts, or six weeks if they wear hard contacts, before the testing is completed for the surgical correction.

A note for patients ordering glasses from online vendors:

The pupillary distance is a measurement we take when we are ordering glasses for you.  If you are using an online service, that company’s website will have basic instructions on how to do this measurement yourself.  We are not responsible for adjustments, incorrect pupillary distance measurement, pantoscopic tilt, or any other issues arising from glasses that are not provided by Avery Eye Clinic.
